In W\u00fcrzburg, around 430 girls and women are considered to be affected or at risk of genital mutilation; according to Terre des Femmes, there are over 20,000 in Bavaria.
The facility run by the Catholic women’s association IN VIA W\u00fcrzburg has been offering low-threshold advice in several languages for over a year, supported by a peer-to-peer concept with language and cultural mediators. The counseling often deals with questions about genital mutilation in connection with asylum, child protection, health and pregnancy. Those seeking advice are also specifically referred to medical and psychosocial support services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doctors without Borders is an international humanitarian aid organization. They provide medical aid in countries where people are in need due to wars, epidemics or natural disasters. Doctors without Borders supports people regardless of their origin, gender identity, political or religious beliefs. In order to remain independent, the German section of MSF finances most of its projects (97 percent) with the help of private donors. Around 45,000 employees are constantly working for Doctors without Borders in more than 70 countries. Most of the projects are in Africa at the moment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Heart for Kenya is committed to helping orphans in Kenya and giving them a better future. Their great vision is to create a place where children\u2018s eyes, previously filled with hopelessness, can once again shine, a place where they can find hope, a loving home and a perspective. The association is looking for people who want to help to give these children a chance for a healthy, self-determining and violence-free life. Among other things, they build children\u2018s homes, schools, drill wells and arrange sponsorships. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

BAOBAB CHILDREN FOUNDATION <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Baobab Children Foundation is a Ghanaian NGO that was founded in 2002 by the former Freiburg Waldorf teacher Edith de Vos and has now developed into a real small village. The youth training centre is located in the Central Region between Kissi and Kwahinkrom, about 35 km from Cape Coast. The training centre includes: The BAOBAB School for Crafts and Traditional Arts and Crafts – an inclusive vocational school. The BAOBAB CULTURE TROUPE. The BAOBAB HOUSE in Cape Coast, a hostel with a restaurant and shop. Moringa, vegetables and other fruits are grown on the 14.5-hectare BAOBAB ADEPA Organic Farm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The non-profit organisation Take a Malaika e.V. was founded in 2019 and works closely with the international NGO Home of Malaika in Arusha, Tanzania. The focus is on supporting women and children with the aim of enabling a better future and strengthening rights and opportunities by helping them to help themselves. The organisation supports various projects such as anti-violence training, sex education for young girls and a sewing project that offers women from economically and socially difficult backgrounds a source of income. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
