One of the miracles of our time must surely be the arrival of the new democratic South Africa in the community of nations. And what better vehicle could there be than music and dance to portray the talents and creativity of South Africa«s rainbow nation. South Africa has so much to learn from, and to offer to, its continent, Africa, and to the world at large.
We South Africans appreciate the continuous efforts of the people of the Federal Republic of Germany to further the awareness of the versatility and depth of African culture in Germany. Occasions like the Seventh Africa Festival in Würzburg, capture the spirit of cooperation and understanding between the peoples of the European Union and Africa.
I wish the Seventh Africa Festival in Würzburg every success. May this festival bring home to the hearts and minds of the people of Germany the diversity, the strength and the magic of our African culture.
