DK 24, Youssou N`Dour`s music festival, will be presented this year as an cooperation of Senegal`s superstar and the International Africa Festival Wuerzburg as well as the Foreign Office of Senegal, the German ambassy in Dakar and Mercedes Benz.

The festival will take place on November 12th and 13th at the cultural center Douta Seck in Dakar. For the second time since 1998, there will be 24 hours of music on two days. On the schedule are mainly presentations of acoustic music with internationally well-known artists like Cheikh Lô and Lokua Kanza as well as Alioune Mbaye Nder & Setsima group and the rapper Bidew Bou Bess. Of course Youssou N`Dour and his band will appear, too.

The festival will be supported by Jololi, Youssou N`Dour's record label, and Afro Project, musical development aid for Germany. The festival will be under the patronage of the Senegalese foreign minister, His Excellency Jacques Boudin.

German top-drummer Marco Minnemann will travel to Senegal. There he will be leading a workshop which will introduce African musicians to modern drum technique and studio work.
