Die Otentikk Street Brothers sind eine junge Band, bestehend aus drei MCs und zwei Backgroundsängerinnen. Sie stammen von der kleinen Insel Mauritius mitten im Indischen Ozean. In ihrem charakteristischen Style verbinden sie sowohl Elemente aus Reggae, Ragga und Hip Hop, als auch dem traditionellen musikalischen Erbe der kreolischen Bevölkerung von Mauritius, genannt „Sega".

The Otentikk Street Brothers are a young band consisting of three MCs and two background singers. They hail from the tiny island Mauritius in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Their characteristic style merges reggae, ragga, and hip hop elements with the traditional heritage of Mauritius's Creole population - called "sega".

Die Sängerin Mo Kalamity kommt von den kapverdischen Inseln, bezeichnet jedoch ihren Ursprung als Africa International. Ihre Musik ist Roots- und Soul-Reggae. Sie ist eine der wenigen Reggaemusikerinnen, die durch ihre außergewöhnliche Stimme und Bühnenpräsenz auffällt. 2006 kam ihre erste, selbst produzierte CD „Warriors of Light" auf den Markt. Mo Kalamity wird mit ihrer sechsköpfigen Band The Wizards zum ersten Mal in Deutschland auftreten.

The singer Mo Kalamity is from the Capverdian Islands but calls her origins "Africa International". Her music is all roots and soul reggae. She is among the few reggae musicians who arouse attention by an exceptional voice and stage presence. In 2006, her first own-produced CD "Warriors of Light" was published. Mo Kalamity appears with her six-person band in Germany for the first time.

Groovender Reggae muss nicht aus Jamaika stammen. Aus dem Nachbarland Frankreich kommt Dub Incorporation, deren französischer Dub-Reggae mit Anleihen aus arabischer Rhythmik, Hip Hop und afrikanischen Beats angereichert ist. Ihre Texte berichten von Gewalt, Armut, Bildungsnotstand, Arbeitslosigkeit, Korruption und anderen sozialen Missständen. Alle acht Bandmitglieder stammen aus den „Banlieus", den überwiegend von Einwanderern bewohnten Vororten französischer Großtädte und geben der Ghetto-Jugend Frankreichs eine Stimme.

Groovy reggae sounds do not necessarily come from Jamaica. Dub Incorporation hail from Germany's neighbouring country France. Their French dub reggae is enriched with borrowings from Arabian rhythmics, hip hop, and African beats. Their lyrics tell of violence, poverty, the state of emergency in education, unemployment, corruption, and other social grievances. Being from the "banlieues", the suburbs of French cities that are mainly populated by immigrants, the eight band members lend their voices to the French ghetto youth.
