Afro Project übergab in Kapstadt einen Mercedes-Transporter an die Anti-Aids-Initiative ?Steps for the Future" mit der das Festival seit mehreren Jahren zusammen arbeitet. So schickte das Festival, in Kooperation mit dem Modeunternehmen s.Oliver, im Jahr 2005 eine Million Kondome nach Südafrika. Das von s.Olvier und Daimler-Chrysler zur Verfügung gestellte Fahrzeug dient ?Steps for the Future" dazu, Menschen in entlegenen Ortschaften zu erreichen, um sie über die Gefahren der Aids-Pandemie aufzuklären. Die Initiative, deren Aktivisten zu einem Großteil selbst HIV-infiziert sind, betreibt ihre Aufklärungsarbeit über Kurzfilme, die die Gefahren von HIV/Aids thematisieren. Mit dem neuen Fahrzeug ist es nun leichter möglich, die Vorführgeräte und Leinwände auch in abgelegenere Gebiete zu transportieren.   In Cape Town, staff members of the Afro Project handed over a Mercedes van to the anti-aids initiative "Steps for the Future" with which the Africa Festival has been cooperating for several years. In cooperation with the fashion company s. Oliver from Würzburg, the Africa Festival also sent one million condoms to South Africa in 2005. By means of the van, which was provided by s.Oliver and Daimler-Chrysler, the members of "Steps for the Future" are now able to reach people in remote villages in order to inform them about the dangers of the HIV pandemic. The initiative, whose activists are largely infected with HIV themselves, organizes its information work via filmlets that make an issue of HIV/aids.
