Der Basar hat wieder einiges zu bieten: afrikanische Percussions- und Musikinstrumente, Kleider und Stoffe, Schmuck, Skulpturen und Masken, Kunst- und Gebrauchsgegenstände, Bücher, Schallplatten mit traditioneller und moderner afrikanischer Musik und Basar-Bars. Erstmals wird in diesem Jahr auf dem Basar das Weltmusik-Plattenlabel Putumayo mit einem eigenen Zelt zu Gast sein. Das Restaurationszelt sowie der Biergarten mit Frühstück, afrikanischem und karibischem Essen, Cocktails, Getränken und Musik sind von Freitag bis Montag von 10.00 bis 24.00 Uhr geöffnet.

The bazaar has again a lot to offer: African percussion and musical instruments, dresses, fabrics, jewellery, sculptures, masks, objects of art and articles of daily use, books, records with traditional and modern African music, and bazaar bars. For the first time, the world music record label Putumayo will be present at the Africa Festival with an own tent. The restauration tent and the beer garden are open Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12 midnight Breakfast, African and Caribbean food, drinks, cocktails and music are being offered.

Putumayo World Playground
Saturday and Sunday, 2 p.m. till 7 p.m. for 5 to 12 year olds.
Music, singing, dancing, jumping, and crafts. Putumayo Kids organises different activities and work shops for children such as for example face painting, drawing, various funny games. And what is more, exciting animal stories are told hourly.

Putumayo Lounge
Every evening, 7. p.m. till 11 p.m.
In the evening, the Putumayo Tent changes into Putumayo Lounge. The exotic sounds of DJ José Manuel Rodriguez make the audience swing and dance, but you can also just come and relax

In diesem Jahr sind wieder zahlreiche Handwerker in der Bambushalle. Es kommen u. a. die Tunesierin Hayet Jaziri (Perlenarbeiten), die Marokkanerin Amal Kouchraichi (Hennabemalungen) der Trommelbauer und Schnitzer Sory Sidime aus Guinea, der Blechspielzeugbauer Alfred Ouoba aus Burkina Faso und der äthiopische Maler Sisay Shimeles.
Des weiteren wird es wieder Informationsstände geben. Die Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) stellt wie die letzten Jahre ihre Entwicklungsprojekte in Afrika vor. Die Initiative Mwanza e.V. wird an einem Stand über ihre Arbeit im Rahmen der Städtepartnerschaft zwischen Würzburg und Mwanza in Tansania informieren. Die Deutsche Leprahilfe mit Sitz in Würzburg, die in diesem Jahr ihr 50-jähriges Bestehen feiert, informiert über ihre Projekte in Afrika und dem Rest der Welt. Ihre Arbeit stellen auch die Wasserstiftung und der Biota-Verein von der Würzburger Universität vor.

This year, numerous craftsmen will again be in the bamboo hall, e.g. the Tunisian Hayet Jaziri (bead crochet work), the Moroccan Amal Kouchraichi (henna painting), the drum builder and carver Sory Sidime from Guinea, Alfred Ouoba from Burkina Faso (manufacturer of tin toys), and the Aethiopian painter Sisay Shimeles. Moreover, there will again be many information stands. The Deutsche Gesellschaft für technische Zusammenarbeit (Association for Technical Cooperation, GTZ) will present its work in Africa. The initiative Mwanza e.V. will provide information about its work in the context of the town twinning between Würzburg and Mwanza in Tanzania. The German German Leprosy and TB Relief Association (Würzburg), that celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, will give information on its projects in Africa and the rest of the world. The Water Foundation and the Biota Association from the University of Würzburg will also present their work.

Auch dieses Jahr wird wieder das Tuareg-Nomadenlager neben der Bambushalle aufgebaut. Hier erhält der Besucher interessante Informationen über Kultur und Lebensweise der Nomaden.

This year again, the Tuareg camp is built up adjacent to the bamboo hall. In the camp, the visitor can obtain interesting information about culture and the way of life of the nomadic Tuareg.
